Aqaba

Petra fue muy bonita- sin embago hacía mucho calor y era muy seca. De otra forma Aqaba, una hora de allí, me dio la oprtunidad para relajar un poco' en el agua. Lo que más me gustó de Aqaba fue la playa cerca del centro. Por la noche andei por la playa y vi las familias con picnics, futbol y juegos.

Petra was beatiful- but also very hot and dry. Aqaba, about an hour away, was a great place to cool off a bit. My favorite part of Aqaba was walking around the dowtown beach area in the evening and watching the families picnic and play soccer and games.

Casi no tengo palabras para este lugar. Es realmente increíble. Esta capital de los nabateanos fue constrída en piedra. Los colores aquí- estupendos. Pasé dos días allí caminando, subiendo montañas, conociendo vários animales y experimentando la espiritud hospedalária de los bedohuínos.

Words cannot describe this place. It is truly incredible. The capital of the Nabateans was built totally in sandstone. The colors here- amazing. I spent two days there walking, climbing mountains, befriending many animals and experiencing the hospitality of the bedohuins.

El mar muerto

En el poniente del país se encuentra el Mar Muerto. Tiene tanta sal allí que todas las personas se flotan en el agua. Realmente fue una experiencia única. Otra cosa muy interesante de esta área es que el lodo que se encuentra allí está llenísimo de minerales. Fue muy divertido para estar cubierto de cabeza a pie en lodo.

In the East of the country lies the Dead Sea. There is so much salt there that everyone floats in the water. It was truly an incredible experience. Another thing that was interesting about this area is that the mud that is found there is full of minerals. It was very interesting to be covered from head to toe in mud.

La llegada en Amman

Hoy fue un día lleno de emoción. Por la mañana participé en la graduación de los cadets en la Academia Militar de los Estados Unidos en West Point. El presidente Obama estuvo allí y les presentó a los cadetes sus diplomas. Por la tarde, estaba en ruta para Amman, Jordania !Que día!

Today was a day that was full of excitement! In the morning I participated in the cadets´graduation at the United States Military Academy at West Point. President Obama was there and presented diplomas to the cadets. In the afternoon, I was in route to Amman, Jordan. What a day!
